I'd say the books are perfect for beginners as they assume little prior knowledge. Don't get me wrong, you won't become a professional poker player and able to quit your job after 3 weeks just by listening to these books. great resource! He also mentions many more! The style of narration is pleasant, the book is read, but conversational enough to keep you sharp. Volume 1 is a general strategy book, whereas Volume 2 focuses on heads-up play. That being said, it's not "too advanced" that the concepts become dry and academic and it's not too advanced that it no longer applies to the stakes this book focuses on Low Stakes. If you are determined to put in the work, then these guides will take you to your goals. Just put it on when you're in your car to work and there will probably be some gems in there that you can use to improve your game. not just basics but many strategies on hands, examples, and money management. Intermediate and Advanced players: if you have some hours to spare I can recommend listening to this series as well. this is how the professionals do It!
